Mercury Eclipse is a UK-based independent brand created by artist and print designer Viv Peak, inspired by cosmic nature, 60s psychedelic poster art and retro rock music. The collection features distinctive art prints, cards, clothing and gifts for those who like something a little out of the ordinary.

Why the name?

The name was chosen to reflect the unique, cosmic feel of the brand. A Mercury transit occurs when the planet Mercury passes directly between the Sun and Earth, appearing to cross the face of the Sun. It’s a rare astronomical event, and the name Mercury Eclipse seems to capture that sense of something unusual and distinctive.

I create unique art prints designed to bring a little colour, character and cosmic weirdness to your space.

A little about me:

Originally from North Yorkshire, I’ve worked in the design industry since 2003, creating prints and graphics for fashion brands and suppliers. I spent six years working in-house for a rock ’n’ roll brand, followed by four years designing for a fashion supplier, gaining valuable experience of the whole process from initial ideas through to production. Since 2016, I’ve worked as a freelance designer from my studio in Surrey.

I’ve worked with brands including Guess, Firetrap, Pepe, Little Bird by Jools Oliver and Zara. Mercury Eclipse is where I get to put my own ideas first and create the artwork I’m most passionate about.

There’s almost always music playing in my studio, and when I’m not designing, you’ll often find me at live music gigs or out in nature. These influences naturally find their way into my work.

My designs are professionally printed in the UK to ensure a high-quality finish, using lower-impact production methods. I use biodegradable packaging and organic cotton for clothing where possible.
